夏がテ－マの不朽の名作「Summer Madness」の続編と言うべき「冬の名作メロ－グル－ブ」です
”UK盤 12inch”の「Special Disco Version」でお聴きください
ニュージャージーで64年に結成された「Kool & The Gang」
メンバ－は、"Robert Kool"(B)と、"Ronald" (Key)の「Bell・兄弟」を中心に、ハイスクール仲間である”George Brown (Drs)”、”Claydes Smith(G)”、”Dennis Thomas (Sax)”、”Rick West (Key)”、”Robert Mickens (Trumpet)”の7人組でスタ－ト、当初はリード・ボーカルは置かずに”Jazz Funk”を中心にした演奏スタイルを貫きました。
69年、アルバム「Kool and the Gang (全米R&B・43位）」でデビュ－。73年「Wild and Peaceful」が”全米・R&Bチャ－ト・6位”と”RIAA認定・ゴ－ルドディスク”を獲得、以降76年「Open Sesame」まで5枚のアルバムは全て”全米・R&Bチャ－ト・Top10”に送り込み、「前期・Jazz Funk期」の全盛期を迎えます
グル－プの改革は79年、”James "J.T." Taylor”をリ－ドボ－カルに迎え、”Deodato”プロデュ－スの元に作成された「Ladies' Night」が”全米・R&Bチャ－ト・第1位”と”RIAA認定・ダブル・プラチナム”を獲得、空前のブ－ムを巻き起こします。以降、86年「Forever」まで”全米・R&Bチャ－ト・Top10”と”RIAA認定・ゴ－ルドディスク”を獲得、ヒットメイカ－の地位を確立しました。
J.T.などメンバ－の脱退、変遷はありますが2007年には11年振りになるアルバム「STILL KOOL」をリリ－ス、2014年にグループ結成50周年を迎え、2016年7月には新曲“Sexy"も発表、現在でも活躍するスーパー・ファンク・バンドです

不朽の名作「Summer Madness」の続編とも言うべき冬のメロ－グル－ブ至宝の名曲「Winter Sadness」、哀愁を湛えたメロディーとメロウネスが混ざり合った気持ちの良い極上のメロウナンバ－です
