本日は”T.K. Productions”創設者、マイアミを一大・音楽都市にした功労者”Henry Stone”が発掘

70年代ディスコブ－ムを牽引した、”マイアミ・ディスコの巨星”「KC & The Sunshine Band」です

”US盤 12inch”の「Special Long Version」でお聴きください

当初「KC & The Sunshine Junkanoo Band」としてロ－カル活動していた、歌手”Harry Wayne Casey (通称 KC)”が、”T.K. Productions”創設者、マイアミを一大音楽都市にした功労者”Henry Stone”経営の「ドーン・レコード」で勤務中、スカウトされた事がアメリカンドリ－ムの始まり・・・・・

73年、辣腕のレコード・エンジニア”Richard Finch (B)”と出会い、”Jerome Smith (G)”,”Robert Johnson (Drms)”など、「マイアミ・T.K.レコ－ド」の凄腕セッションミュ－ジシャンを加え、5人組で結成されたバンド「KC & The Sunshine Band」

デビューは74年、75年リリ－スの2ndアルバムから”Get Down Tonight”、”That's the Way (I Like It)”が”全米チャ－ト・第1位”、”RIAA認定・ダブルプラチナム”と、世界的に大ブレ－ク。その後も、79年アルバム「Do You Wanna Go Party」まで、4作連続して”RIAA・プラチナム認定”、5曲が”全米チャ－ト・第1位”を獲得、人気、セ－ルス共に「マイアミ・ディスコの巨星」として、ディスコブ－ムを牽引、世界に君臨しました

グル－プとしては85年に解散、93年再結成、最新作は2015年「A Sunshine Christmas」まで、ライブ2作含み15枚のアルバムをリリ－ス、現在も活躍しています
