本日は60年代モータウンの黄金時代を支えた「Holland-Dozier-Holland」が設立した「Invictus」から

ライブで鍛えた壮絶なる演奏の実力派ファンクナンバ－です

”US盤 12inch”の「Special Long Version」でお聴きください

「ニューヨーク港湾公社」をグル－プ名にした6人組ファンクグル－プ「New York Port Authority」、N.Y.ロングアイランド生まれの”Reginald A. Brown (Lead Vo、B)”,”Melvin Miller (G)”,”John O. Hargrove (Sax）”学生仲間3人で結成、69年には”Rodney J. Brown (Trumpet)”,”Stafford M. Floyd (Key)”,”Monwell E. Lowndes (Drus)”が参加します

グル－プ名は当初「Magnetones」を名乗り、72年には「Moonshadow」に変名、ニュ－ヨ－クを拠点にライブで活動してその技量で有名になっていきました

75年の秋、ロサンゼルスでのライブがきっかけで、1960年代にモータウンの専属ソングライターとしてその黄金時代を支えた「Holland-Dozier-Holland」が設立した「Invictus」と契約、グル－プ名を「New York Port Authorit」に変更してアルバムを録音

「H-D-H Productins」の”Brian Holland”がプロデュ－スしたデビュ－アルバム「Three Thousand Miles From Home」は、素晴らしい内容でコアなファンからは絶賛されましたが、セ－ルスには結びつかず解散しました

60年代にモータウンの黄金時代を支えた”Brian Holland”がプロデュ－ス、バックコ－ラスに”Eloise Laws”が参加、長年の下積みライブ活動の実力満点な熱血豪快ファンクです

本国”アメリカ盤 12inch”です。アルバム「4分10秒」から「6分30秒」へ、ダンスフロア－対応に素晴らしいリミックスの「Special Long Version」としてプロユ－スにアレンジされています

イントロからパワ－全快「6分30秒」の壮絶な演奏、踊るしかありません

カップリングB面です。こちらもアルバム「4分23秒」から「6分6秒」に素晴らしいリミックスの「Special Long Version」としてプロユ－スにアレンジされています

70年代の匂いが充満、素晴らしいファンクナンバ－です
