55年、ロサンゼルス生まれの作曲家、透明感のあるヴォーカルで人気の黒人女性シンガー”Sheree Brown”、学生時代から”Patrice Rushen”、”Stevie Wonder”の元妻”Syreeta Wrigh”と親友で、共にバンドを組んでいたこともあります




元来、作曲才能には定評があり、親友”Patrice Rushen”、”Syreeta Wrigh”はじめ、多数のア－ティストに名作を作曲します。特に”Patrice Rushen”には79年「Haven't You Heard (全米R&Bチャート・第7位)」、80年「Look Up (全米ダンスチャート・第2位)」を作曲、”Monterey Jazz Festival”のピアノソロ部門"の優勝者で天才キ－ボ－ド奏者の”Patrice Rushen”をポップフィルドに進出するきっかけになったヒット曲を提供しました




81年、親友”Patrice Rushen”の完全バックアップでソロデビュ－、最新作は2013年まで”4枚の傑作アルバム”をリリ－スしています

”Minnie Riperton”のパートナー”Richard Rudolph”にプロデュ－スされた、81年のソロデビュ作、バック演奏陣は”Steve Khan (G)”、”Paul Jackson Jr (G)”、”John Robinson (Drms)”、”Gerald Albright (Sax)”、”Jim Gilstrap (Back Vo)”、”Jerry Hey (Horn Arrange)”、そして”Patrice Rushen (Vo Key)”と・・・豪華絢爛に配備




オリジナルの12inchカットはUK盤だけでした。ダンスフロア－を意識して高音圧でワイドレンジな「Special Disco Version」としてプロユ－スにアレンジされています
