本日は唄の上手さは折り紙付き、華麗な生粋のNYレディ－”Melba Moore”の77年作

”McFadden ＆ Whitehead”のプロデュ－スによる「70`s ニューヨーク・ダンスチューン」です

非売品 US盤 Promo 12inchの「Special Long Version」でお聴き下さい

ニューヨークで45年に生まれた歌手、ミュ－ジカル俳優の”Melba Moore”、68年にミュージカル「ヘア－」で主役に抜擢、「Purlie」では”トニー賞”を受賞、70年代には、「映画女優」としても大活躍した、多才な女性です

シンガ－としては71年にデビュ－、同年「グラミー賞・Best New Artist｣にノミネートされた実力者、76年には、”Van McCoy”にプロデュ－スされた「This Is It」が”全米・ダンスチャ－ト・2位”に輝き、シンガ－としても成功を収めます

80年代は、夫の”Charles Huggins”と「ニュ－ヨ－クサウンド」を代表する「Hush Productions」を設立、その「Hushの顔」として、86年”Freddie Jackson”との「A Little Bit More」や「Falling」では”全米・R&Bチャ－ト・第1位”を獲得、黄金期を迎えていきます。

最新作は2009年「The Gift Of Love」まで23枚のアルバムをリリ－ス、”全米チャ－ト・30位以内”に「27曲」も送り込むなど、ヒットメ－カとして大活躍しています
