46年、テキサス生まれ、カルフォルニア育ちの偉大なベ－ス奏者”Larry Graham”、15歳の頃に母とバンドを組むがドラマーが不在のため、必要に駆られてスラッピングを生み出した逸話を持ちます

21歳の67年、「Sly & The Family Stone」に加入、”Greg Errico（Drms）”とのマシンガンのようなリズム隊で、驚異の実力を世間に轟かせます。71年、残念ながら「Sly & The Family Stone」が解雇・・・・・73年、NYの「Grand Central Statio」から由来した自身のバンド「Graham Central Station」を結成

デビュ－アルバム「Graham Central Station」は”全米・ソウルチャ－ト・20位”と好発進、74年「Release Yourself（全米R&B20位）」、75年「Ain't No 'Bout-A-Doubt It（全米R&B4位）」、シングル「Your Love」で”全米R&B・第1位”を獲得、76年「Mirror（全米R&B7位）」、78年「My Radio Sure Sounds Good to Me」まで”6作連続”、”全米・R&Bチャ－ト・20位入り”と、安定した人気グル－プとして君臨します

グル－プは79年に解散、92年に「The Family Stone」のメンバ－を呼んで再結成、最新作は2012年にリリ－ス、またソロとしても6作をリリ－ス、”スラップ奏法”を生み出した「元祖・チョッパー・ベ－ス奏者」として、尊敬されるミュ－ジシャンです
