本日は38年の歳月を経て、「Boogie 80」が発掘した貴重なメガレア音源
ニューヨーク州・バッファロー生まれ、モータウンでプロデューサーとして、また歌手として活躍した”Bobby Nunn”、父の”William Nunn”は、60年代中期にバッファローの「Nunn家の地下」に「MoDo's recording studio」と「MoDo records」を設立
まだ10代の”Bobby Nunn”は、友人”Eugene Coplin”と共に、コ－ラスグル－プ「Bob & Gene」を結成、67年「You Gave Me Love」から69年「If This World Were Mine」まで、「MoDo's recording studio」で5枚のシングルを録音、78年に「モータウン」に持ち込んだデモテープが認められ、”Rick James”のバックバンド「Stone City Band」のメンバ－にキ－ボ－ド奏者として参加します
兄弟の”Billy”を含む「Stone City Band」のメンバ－達と79年、ファンク・グル－プ「Splendor」を結成、「Earth,Wind & Fire」の”Philip Bailey”プロデュースによりアルバムをリリ－ス、内容は抜群ながら、セ－ルスには繋がらず解散
その後、81年「モータウン」と正式契約、シングル｢She's Just A Groupie｣をリリ－ス、”全米・R&Bチャ－ト・15位”とヒットして陽の目を浴びます。「モータウン」ではアルバムを2枚リリ－ス、85年以降は「モータウン」を離れ、「Philip Bailey」、「The Jets」などに、作曲家として曲の提供やプロデュ－サ－として活躍します
